Imparting richness to formulation

Ethylhexyl Palmitate

Ethylhexyl palmitate is a frequently used emollient ester in cosmetic formulations, making them feel smooth and luxurious. It provides a light, non-greasy finish. 2-ethylhexanol and palmitic acid-derived, this medium-spreading ester confers richness and soft, silky skin-feel to skincare products. Its main purpose would be to improve the spreadability of formulations, which would provide ease of application and give a pleasant skin feel.
In addition to its emollient effect, ethylhexyl palmitate may be used as a mineral oil substitute-a botanical alternative preferred by those consumers who are into natural ingredients. This is especially true in "clean beauty" applications. The product may be blended with other emollients, such as fatty alcohols or silicone derivatives, to produce light and quick-release or rich and nourishing textures.
This ester is well-tolerated by the majority of skin types, and thus a wide array of products can use it-from moisturizers to sunscreens, makeup, and hair care products. It isn't comedogenic, which means it does not block pores, and it has only relatively low irritation potential, which adds more to its value in cosmetic formulation. Also, it finds broad usage in formulation, both for dry and oily skin, for its peculiar characteristic of improving skin moisture without leaving any unpleasant greasy residue. This is because of its great flexibility to meet functional and sensorial needs in personal care products.
