Sodium Polyacrylate
Exceptional water-binding capabilities
Functions: Absorbent, binding, emollient, emulsion stabilising, film forming, hair fixing, skin conditioning, viscosity controlling

Sodium Polyacrylate is a superabsorbent polymer consisting of big repeating subunits; it has been noted for an outstanding capacity to bind water. Many times, it is referred to as a "waterlock." It can absorb 100 to 1,000 times its weight in water. In cosmetic applications, it performs multi-functional roles, including thickening water-based formulations and stabilizing emulsions by aiding the mixing and sustaining the combination of water and oil.
